Violation Information

The DDA’s On-Street parking program creates sound parking regulations to make parking as convenient and accessible as possible in downtown. These regulations are customized to accommodate the particular needs and uses of the primary districts in downtown. The DDA and ShrevePark Parking Services staff works with businesses to better understand the unique circumstances which exist in specific areas and modify regulations to provide for maximum benefits. We also work with the City to establish regulations designed to improve public safety and maximize efficient traffic flow.

Expired Meter - $10.00
A vehicle is parked beyond the period of time indicated on the meter.

Overtime at Meter - $10.00
A vehicle is in violation of the legal maximum time limit established for a specific parking meter or has remained parked in the space beyond the time purchased by coins or ParkCard.

No Parking Zone - $15.00
No Parking zones are designed to strictly ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Absolutely no parking. Red Curb

Passenger Loading Zone - $15.00
Passenger zones are established to provide space for dropping off or picking up passengers without blocking traffic.  Someone must remain in the vehicle when parked in a passenger loading zone. Yellow Curb

Loading/Commercial Zone - $15.00
Loading/Commercial zones are for trucks, delivery vans or automobiles with commercial license plates permitted to load and unload in commercial vehicle loading zone. Yellow curb

Fire Lane - $50.00
It is unlawful for anyone to park in a fire lane that has been designated by the Fire Chief or State fire Marshal. Red Curb

Handicap Zone - $300.00
The term “handicapped” shall mean persons whose vehicles are identified by license plates, hang tags or parking cards issued in accordance with state law for handicapped individuals or disabled veterans. Only vehicles so identified are permitted to park in this zone. Signs and markings are blue

Late Fees
A late fee of $10.00 will apply if citations are not paid within ten days. A late fee of $25.00 will apply if Fire Lane violations are not paid within ten days.  Handicap Zone violations are not charged late fees.
